I am Kavanaugh Williams, a Best Selling Author, Speaker, Copywriter and Blogger for this site: “Lady Kavan Writes.”
Here are some quick facts about me:
My faith journey began more than two decades ago. I have written two books including a best-selling devotional “Grief Stricken”. I operate under the moniker Lady Kavan a name which is an intimate expression of my origin. The title “Lady” is reminiscent of royalty. It is my way of reclaiming an identity that was smeared by trauma and tragedy. The second part, Kavan (a short form of my name) was only used by my parents until I started using it publicly.
I am committed to walking in my God-given authority, creativity, and grace to help others navigate complex emotions in the context of a biblically based Christian faith. As a multifaceted creative, I wear many hats; children’s ministry teacher, dance instructor, small group facilitator and poet. I attend Hope City Brampton in Ontario Canada with my family.
My Why:
My first devotional, Grief Stricken, was born out of unimaginable loss—the murder of my first husband during a home invasion. I call that chapter of my life the Great Sadness. It was my lowest point, forcing me to grapple with profound questions about God and my faith. Yet, through navigating that pain, along with other seasons of loss and triumph, I came to a steadfast conviction: God’s grace and love have been the unshakable foundation of my life. Now, I write to help others find clarity in their complexities and hope in the One who alone has the power to transform lives.
My book Worthy of Life and Love is a memoir about my life and the journey up to the time I wrote it. I have concluded that regardless of our past and present circumstances, we are worthy of the love and life our Heavenly Father freely gives.
